Repairing Your Oral Health Issues

Oral surgery refers to the surgical treatment of disease, injuries, and defects that affect the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth, teeth, and jaw.

Brushing, flossing, and attending routine dental care can go a long way toward maintaining a healthy smile, but serious dental health issues can still arise. Advanced gum (periodontal) disease, injuries, or severe tooth decay can all result in the need for oral surgery.

If we determine that oral surgery is the right treatment option for you, we will make sure to explain each step of the procedure so you feel comfortable moving forward with treatent. Additionally, we offer dental sedation, so you don't have to worry about feeling any pain or discomfort while the procedure is being performed.

After your procedure, your dentist will provide detailed post-operative instructions that you will need to follow during each stage of your recovery. You'll also be prescribed pain medication to help alleviate any soreness you might feel.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that functions like a natural tooth root. When paired with a dental prosthetic, such as a crown or denture, dental implants can provide a natural-looking and functional replacement for missing teeth. By replacing missing teeth, we can help stop teeth surrounding the gap from shifting.

Tooth Extractions

While preserving a natural tooth is ideal, there are situations where extraction is necessary. These include severe damage from decay, gum disease, or trauma. In these cases, your dentist may recommend removing the tooth to prevent further complications and help you maintain optimal oral health.

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth typically emerge in the late teens to early twenties and can cause issues due to a lack of space in the jaw or emerging at an improper angle. This can not only lead to pain, but can also cause crowding of the surrounding teeth. This can make it more difficult to clean between teeth, which is why dentists may recommend removing them.

Bone Grafts

If you need a dental implant but your jaw has started to deteriorate, a bone graft may help strengthen it enough to support the implant. A bone graft is a procedure where bone from another area of the mouth is added to strengthen the jaw. Bone grafts are typically done to restore bone loss in the jaw due to gum disease disease or injury.
